Thanks for correcting me on Kuwait. You seem to have accidentally labelled Oman as 'Ottoman Empire'. I'm slightly suprised that south-east Asia has similar borders as in the real world, but I'm sure you have your reasons; maybe it's just an 'alternate-historically resilient' region.
Then the Tidore Sultanate is only New Guinea? Hmm, I was under the impression that it covered multiple islands, but maybe I misread Robb's maps.
And Robb is correct, you mislabelled Oman.
Sorry for all my pestering, didn't know you were sick! Glad to see you're back in good health. There's a cold going around my house, so I guess that means frequent hand-washing for us both.
Such 3 AM, very lack of cafine.
Come to think of it, weren't China and Japan at war with eachother before WWII?
Were they? Cool, I didn't know that!
Poor little Mongolia, it seems it's glory days are behind it. One day, I should make an althist where Mongolia is almost as big as Russia or China and plays a huge part in world politics.
I can see very little at fault with this map. In fact, I would venture to say this is practically perfect! What's your take, Robb?
And yes, I know the Chinese Territories are unrealistic. I can't even remember why I put that there!
What about the indiginous Thule population? Or as the Norse called them, the Skrælings?
Unfortunately, the collapse of their society was more related to the Little Ice Age than European contact, so it wouldn't have been prevented in AM. The Arctic would be inhabited by their Inuit descendants instead, who were more isolated, less technologically adept and far less interesting :(
Maybe at some point, we should make a universe where there was no Little Ice Age? Course, then there'd still be Europeans...
Oh, and the threads getting a bit long again. We might want to consider making a new one in the relatively near future...
