The Battle of the Adriatic sea was the final battle with Roman victory in the first Greco-Roman war.

The Roman forces attempted a naval battle with the New Greek Empire's navy, but the Greek cannon Trireme proved to be more than able to destroy Roman ships. As a result, Rome fired cannons at the iron plating on the Greek vessels, then lit small life boats ablaze and rammed them into the triremes, causing the Greek navy to go up in flames.

While the Greeks lost the battle, it did cause them to employ further measures against fire in the next two battles.
