Gaius Julius Caesar, more commonly known as Julius Caesar, was a Roman politician that was instrumental in the creation of the Roman Empire. He was born in July 100 BCE, and was assassinated by members of the Senate in March 44 BCE. His adopted son ultimately became Augustus I, the first Emperor of Rome.
