The Empire of Mayalia is a devolved state of the Mayan Grand Empire in the Natimeriverse and was established in 1914 following the Mayan Revolution, in which the absolute monarchy prevalent at the time was reduced to a constitutional monarchy in which the Emperor enjoyed fewer powers.

Before Mayalia came into existence, a powerful absolute monarchy existed in the form of the Mayan Empire. This state coexisted with the Aztec Empire and later the Aztec Federal Republic. The two became superpowers under a joint effort to conquer the world, which they partially achieved in 1560, after the Mayans annexed Britain, France and Scandinavia while the Aztecs conquered Portugal and Spain. This marked the maximum extent of expansion of their empires.

However, 3 years later, the British people revolted against the Mayan rulers and gain their independence. This was the beginning of the decline of the Aztec and Mayan empires. In 1564, the King of Italy took advantage of the Native Americans' weakened state and established the New Roman Empire. However, after three years of war, the NRE was dissolved after the Aztecs and Mayan empires emerged victorious.

In 1710, revolution swept through the Aztec Empire against the dictator Atahualu IV, who was waging a war against the Mayan Empire from 1700 till 1710. This revolution toppled the monarchy and replaced it with a republican government, creating the Aztec Federal Republic. This reestablished peace with the Mayan Empire. However, this war was to damage the two empires' relationship permanently.

From 1856 to 1914, the slow collapse of the Aztec and Mayan empires accelerated with the creation of the German Empire in Europe. The Mayans and Aztecs, seeing the Germans as a threat to their stability, declared war on Germany. Germany won, and also annexed some territory from the Mayans and Aztecs.

In 1914, Germany again attacked the Mayans and Aztecs, reducing both countries into their present forms. Now, Mayalia and its Aztec counterpart, Azteca, is carefully supervised by Germany.
